MONDAY/ TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7/8 finishing up Common Formative Assessments
Remember the steps: 1. Hook-general statement on the topic
2. Identify the central idea / theme / controlling idea of the reading.
3. Identify how this is developed: literary element (character, plot, point of view (first person limited / omniscient or third person limited / omniscient), tone (this is created through diction/ word choice) OR imagery (seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, feeling), personification, similes or metaphors.
4. Weave in your proof.YOU MUST HAVE TEXTUAL PROOF TO SUPPORT YOUR ARGUMENT.
5. Closing: Why is this important? What insight is gained?
Tuesday: You have 10 minutes you have to PROOF READ and EDIT your essay.
In your google classroom, you will open up the GOOGLE FORM, FILL IN THE PERSONAL INFORMATION AND THEN COPY AND PASTE THE MULTIPLE CHOICE ANSWERS AND YOUR ESSAY FROM THE NOTECATHER ONTO THE FORM. and submit
ONCE YOU SUBMIT, THERE ARE NO CHANGES. IT IS ABSOLUTELY DUE BY THE END OF CLASS, EVEN IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸: Closely
read the text provided and write a well-developed, text-based response of two
to three paragraphs. In your response, identify a central idea in the text and
analyze how the author’s use of 𝗼𝗻𝗲 writing strategy (literary element or literary technique or
rhetorical device) develops this central idea. Use strong and thorough evidence
from the text to support your analysis. Do not simply summarize the text. You
may use the margins to take notes as you read and scrap paper to plan your
response.
